Job Description: The Senior Accountant will provide financial leadership for a growing dynamic business within the New England area.  This role will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and work collaboratively with the parent company finance team and cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, and Sales across multiple local companies.

Responsibilities

  1. Accounting and Finance
    1. Work with the Controller to Provide comprehensive financial updates to senior managers by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting appropriate data points.
    2. Support financial and operating reporting benchmarks, budgets, project monitoring, and reporting standards on biweekly, monthly, and annual basis.
    3. Support financial decisions by applying company policies and procedures to current economic landscape.
    4. Support the implementation of accounting policies to safeguard company assets and ensure accounting rules are followed.
    5. Ensure accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll functions for HTS Engineering and related entities are maintained in an efficient and accurate way.
    6. Financial and management statements – assist the financial reporting department with quarterly and annual results.
    7. Aid with yearly external audit/reviews.
    8. Ensure the Inventory system is accurate, review inventory levels, stock held is at required levels.

 

  1. Budgeting and Forecasting
    1. Support yearly planning process in collaboration with regional and corporate managers.

 

  1. Credit/Collections
    1. Support compliance of company credit policy.
    2. Develop capabilities to ensure timely invoicing and collections for the geographic area.
    3. Work as a mediator between finance, sales/operations, and customers to ensure that customers timely pay all bills and billing related problems are identified and resolved.

 

  1. Taxation
    1. Assist Corporate Tax Group with government auditors for corporate, commodity and payroll taxes providing insight on local and regional tax matters.
    2. Review and apply for government subsidies, incentive and grant programs as available.

 

  1. Sales and Operational Support
    1. Provide sales and operational teams with support as required.

Skills:

 

  • College Degree specializing in accounting or business, preference given to those with an accounting designation (CPA) along with a minimum of 5 years of progressive relevant experience. 
  • Ability to understand and utilize advanced technologies.
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and oral.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and to interact at all organizational levels.
  • Experience in Construction and/or HVAC and working in a multinational environment would be an asset

Compensation – Salary based on qualifications along with performance bonus.
