Weekend Design Centre Associate

Your Impact at Empire

The Design Centre Associate provides a meaningful customer journey for homeowners during their Design Centre weekend browsing hours. This includes, but is not limited to, welcoming homeowners, assisting with colour selection, and responding to inquiries.

This role is located at our Design Centre, in Caledonia, ON.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and presentation skills with the ability to retain and articulate information
  • Must be personable, friendly, and professional
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Ability to read floor plans, colour charts, Kitchen and Bathroom drawings, etc, and provide pricing estimates
  • Microsoft Office computer skills, i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a customer service role
  • Currently enrolled in or graduated from an Interior Design or Interior Decorating diploma preferred
  • Sales or design related experience is an asset
  • Must be able to work Saturdays from 10:00am-5:00pm

What You’ll Be Doing Each Day

  • Manages the Design Centre during the weekends, which includes opening and closing the Design Centre, engaging with customers, maintaining the visual merchandising standards and cleanliness of the Design Centre, and re-stocking refreshments.
  • Welcome homeowners / potential purchasers aligned with Empire Communities ICARE values via in-person, telephone, or email.
  • Conduct scheduled Design Centre tours and present display features, curated packages, vignettes, and offering.
  • Assist the homeowner with interior colour selections and document, such as the Colours Wishlist.
  • Track, monitor and report the number of visitors to the Design Centre (Purchaser home location, Buyer type, Community/Phase, etc.).
  • Demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and exceptional Customer Service
