Groupe Marcelle is currently looking for a Technician, Research and Development (R&D) for a permanent full-time position.
The R&D Technician collaborates closely with formulators to facilitate both the creation and refinement of products. This entails preparing batches based on formula recipes, providing feedback for recipe adjustments, and overseeing the testing phases of development and stability. Additionally, she/he maintains the functionality of laboratory equipment, manage supplies and raw materials, and coordinate external testing processes with partners.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE
- Preparing batches for various tests including stability, micro, tolerance, and efficacy assessments.
- Creating product samples for testing and marketing purposes, such as compatibility, clinical trials, consumer feedback, and presentations at trade shows and sales meetings.
- Monitoring product stability and compatibility through physicochemical and organoleptic evaluations, pH testing, density and viscosity measurements, etc.
- Generating stability and compatibility reports based on evaluation findings.
- Conducting regular calibration of laboratory equipment and monitoring water quality.
- Keeping the laboratory inventory up to date.
- Ensuring proper labeling and organization of raw materials.
- Managing purchase orders for laboratory supplies and external testing services.
- Ordering necessary raw materials and components from the warehouse.
- Maintaining proper lab organization and ensuring an adequate supply of essential laboratory supplies.
- Upholding cleanliness and organization within the lab work environment.
- Correcting production batches as needed.
WE WOULD LIKE TO MEET YOU IF YOU HAVE
- DEC in chemistry, laboratory technology or a related field (required).
- Demonstrated experience of minimum 2 years in a lab setting (required).
- Experience in the cosmetics, pharmaceutical or food industries (an asset).
- Proficient in lab procedures, experimentation, and data analysis.
- Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Proficiency in distinguishing colors and pigmentation (an asset).

- Proficient in French, both spoken and written.
- Skilled in effective time management and handling responsibilities.
- Able to work in a collaborative team environment.
- Strong in organization, problem solving skill and attention to detail.
- Capable of performing routine tasks with precision, including calibration and stability testing.
- Capable of demonstrating a high level of rigor, meticulousness, and analytical prowess.
