Based in Montreal and reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Receivables Coordinator in Real Estate Management supports the effective management of receivables for designated property portfolios, produces key analyses, and ensures rigorous follow-up on collection/recovery procedures.

Temporary position 6 months  

  • Periodic follow-up and detailed analysis of accounts receivable aging (based on inputs from property managers) for designated property portfolios.
  • Periodic review and investigation of unmatched deposits/partial payments (in collaboration with the Real Estate Accounting Clerk and with the involvement of the Property Manager as needed) and support for receivables accounting (when needed).
  • Analysis of doubtful accounts and proposal for write-offs for approval by the Chief Real Estate Accounting Officer.
  • Coordination of the collection and recovery process (support for property managers (front line) and liaison with the Legal Affairs team).
  • Update tenant information (payment method, contact details, etc.).
  • Reconciliation of tenant account statements (in collaboration with the Real Estate Accounting Technician and based on inputs from property managers).
  • Support for internal initiatives to improve the performance of deposit recording and receivables collection processes.
  • Measure the performance of the collection process and recovery timelines (including proper follow-up of the escalation process).
  • Support for the standardization of inter-location processes and optimization of methods.
  • Communication with Real Estate Accounting Technicians and periodic reporting to the Chief Real Estate Accounting Officer.
  • Training and support for Real Estate Accounting Clerks.
  • Document management (naming conventions, document retention, file management, and organization of digital directories).

Qualifications: 

  • College diploma in accounting.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a similar role.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Good knowledge of Yardi and Sage 50 accounting systems (an asset).
