Based in Montréal and under the responsibility of the Technicians' supervisor, the Fixed Equipment Mechanic is responsible for performing preventive maintenance on assigned buildings, responding to various emergency calls on the road, and working as a team with the building maintenance technicians.

  • Generate work orders on the CMMS system on-site and ensure they are completed.
  • Perform the daily inspection of building infrastructure.
  • Ensure the proper functioning of system operations.
  • Perform periodic maintenance as prescribed by work orders.
  • Check the chemical balancing of the cooling tower.
  • Check and replace filters as needed.
  • Optimize setpoints.
  • Respond to all types of service calls.
  • Understand the operation of the fire panel.
  • Maintain an adequate inventory of chemicals required for cooling towers.
  • Maintain an adequate inventory of filters, belts, packing, and lubricants for various ventilation systems or circulation pumps.
  • Act within the scope of competencies and regulations as the first responder to address any ventilation parameter adjustments.
  • Check the proper functioning of equipment and contact the responsible contractor for maintenance if necessary.
  • Keep equipment maintenance logs up to date.
  • Monitor work performed by subcontractors and occasionally assist in performing certain tasks.
  • Coordinate equipment shutdowns with management departments.
  • Assist the building maintenance technician team (water damage, office reconfiguration, etc.).

Qualifications :

  • Hold a 4B class MMF qualification certificate (essential)
  • Have a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a similar role
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (an asset)
  • Knowledge of smartphones and Outlook (for service calls)
