Based in Montréal and reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Accounts Receivable Director is responsible for managing receivables related to real estate portfolios. He or she oversees all activities related to client account collections, ensures compliance with collection procedures, analyzes doubtful receivables, and supports the performance of financial processes.The Director is responsible for managing receivables and coordinating actions with the Real Estate Operations team. In this role, they supervise the Accounts Receivable Coordinators, support them in their daily tasks, and ensure the standardization of receivables collection processes across different portfolios.
- Track and analyze the evolution of client accounts, in collaboration with Property Managers;
- Follow up with tenants to collect rent in a timely manner, reassess the process for better results;
- Review unmatched deposits and write-offs for doubtful receivables. Analyze tenant information (payment methods, contacts) to improve the collection process;
- Set and monitor collection objectives with performance indicators (KPIs) for the team under your supervision;
- Provide feedback, organize training, and support Accounts Receivable Coordinators in their tasks;
- Measure collection times and performance, and identify opportunities for improvement;
- Coordinate collections with Property Managers and optimize the collection process;
- Participate in the optimization of financial processes and the standardization of practices;
- Ensure a balanced distribution of tasks and identify corrective actions;
- Prepare regular reports on client accounts and collection performance.
Qualifications
- Hold a college degree in accounting or another relevant field.
- Have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in a similar role.
- Experience in financial analysis and managing doubtful receivables.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Good knowledge of Yardi accounting systems (an asset).
