Salon and Barbershop Manager (Fixed-Term Contract)
The Granite Club is looking for a full-time Salon and Barbershop Manager on a fixed-term contract who will lead and is responsible for ongoing development of a professional service provider team who are key to the Member experience at the Granite Club. This individual sets objectives to ensure achievement of all qualitative and financial goals. Responsible for the supervision of the overall daily operation of the Salon and Barbershop including business and financial management, team development, training, coaching and motivating of Employees, the Manager creates a strong service and team culture. Leading by example, this individual sets high standards including overall leadership, sales and marketing, merchandising, salon appearance and presentation, and overall Member experience.

Primary Responsibilities
Sales, Business Development & Financial Management
- Develop marketing and sales plans and business plans including operating budgets and targets ensuring positive outcomes
- Work with the Club’s Finance team to provide reporting of operational performance, key metrics including analytical reports and summaries, including actionable items and strategies to secure targets
- Review financial statement monthly against budget and act accordingly on variances
- Monitor usage reports to identify opportunities to ensure maximum Member usage and satisfaction
- Create monthly goals and initiatives to identify and promote required initiatives
- Provide a high level of Member service by hiring, coaching and ensuring appropriate training and certification of all Employees
- Responsible for ordering, maintaining, merchandising and securing retail products which appeal to the membership. Conduct regular product knowledge training sessions to ensure Employees are trained in latest products, services and procedures.
- Ensure these operations are maintained to the highest standards of repair, maintenance and cleaning.
Leadership
- Create a culture of team accountability as well as individual accountability and performance
- Align business objectives with team and individual goals and targets
- Supervise and manage daily operations including, sales, staffing, cleaning, repairs, shelf stocking, and all activities resulting in superior operational performance
- Lead Employee meetings and annual reviews
- Train new Employees to ensure skill level and product knowledge are appropriately developed
- Team development including coaching, training, and ongoing product knowledge sessions
- Recognize individual and team successes and celebrate key performance drivers
Essential Duties
- Ensure a welcoming environment and demonstrate a highly professional and engaging approach to assisting Members, such that Members are greeted in an warm, friendly and respective manner
- Ensure impeccable organization and presentation of all products, equipment, furniture and marketing collateral
- Build strong relationships and clearly communicate the “Granite Club” value and loyalty proposition
- Ensure Members are continuously questioned about needs/wants and proactively demonstrate product features and benefits to recommend products that fit the Member requirements, resulting in a successful service and customer loyalty
- Lead, direct and supervise Employees to maximize financial and operational objectives
- Ensure all Employees consistently deliver excellent Member service practices including inquiries and diligent follow up
Required Qualifications
- University or College Degree or Diploma in a related discipline.
- 5+ years experience running an upscale Salon or Spa operation
- Strong financial management skills
- Proven and successful marketing and promotion experience
- Outstanding ability to lead Employees and develop a strong employee service culture
- Highly computer literate
- Excellent verbal, written, managerial and organizational skills
- Highly customer/member service oriented
- Flexible to work variable shifts; evenings, weekends and holidays
Work Schedule
- Must be available to work weekends, weekdays and/or holidays, AM and PM.
