We are looking for a Corporate Controller in Finance whose function will be to offer insightful, timely and high-quality monthly financials and analyses that will shape business performance. The role will also ensure compliance with financial and accounting policies and procedures, internal controls and banking covenants, and oversee the annual budgeting and monthly forecasting process. The role will support the transformation of finance so as to be well positioned for growth opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in management/cost accounting.
Responsibilities:
- Review and understand business performance results.
- Work with site controllers to partner with operations to analyze financials while being deliberate in cost discipline and generating ideas to create value.
- Involvement in the day-to-day decision making of supply chain optimization and the evaluation of business trade-offs.
- Timely and accurate preparation of monthly consolidated financial statements, related analyses and reports.
- Develop, implement and maintain accounting and reporting policies, practices and procedures and internal controls.
- Provide support to site controllers on day-to-day activities.
- Lead the annual budgeting process of 7 casting facilities and corporate functions.
- Prepare monthly forecasted results accompanied by insights that will support effective decision making.
- Supervision of accounts receivable and accounts payable teams (~8 FTEs).
- Preparation of monthly borrowing base and quarterly banking covenant calculation.
- Lead the preparation of the annual audited financial statements.
- Correspond with shareholders for ad hoc financial analyses.
- Support M&A and transition activities.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- CPA designation, CMA is an asset.
- 10+ years in a similar role within a manufacturing environment or similar industry.
- Strong management/cost accounting and consolidation skills.
- Ability to interpret financial statements, cost accounting, and evaluation of trade-offs.
- Demonstrated judgment and influencing skills.
- Analytical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- This role reports directly to the CFO.
- This role will be responsible for 3 direct reports and 11 indirect reports.
- Interactions will be with Matalco site controllers, and operators to ensure the accurate and timely production of financial statements and analyses both actuals and budget.
- Interactions with shareholders, and banking relationships for ad hoc analyses.
