Job Description and Requirements:

This role will primarily be responsible for assisting the Supervisor with supervision of employees.

Minimum Requirements

• Must exhibit Matalco’s Core Values of Respect, Ethics, Service, Team and Pride
• Must be able to mentor and train team members consistent with Matalco’s leadership philosophy
• Will be responsible for promoting Matalco’s Health and Safety program, encompassing all aspects of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations.  Having formal Health and Safety training would be considered a strong asset, due to the nature of the environment
• Must exhibit strong organizational and time management skills
• Must be a team player along with the ability to work in a challenging, steady paced, highly coordinated environment.
• Must be able to work a 12 hour rotating continental shift.

 Overview of Responsibilities

• Help lead a crew of employees; supervise team in absence of Crew Manager
• Train and support development of team members in all areas of skill development
• Set an example for team members regarding the adherence to company policies including but not limited to: safety, attendance, performance, data reporting, and housekeeping
• Will be responsible for managing employee performance in support of management policies.  Also responsible for general business operations, and reporting issues to Production Manager
• Actively provide input regarding productivity improvements and participate in continuous improvement efforts
• Achieve company goals and objectives, including but not limited to productivity, safety, reporting, scrap, and cost reduction

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have leadership experience. This individual must be able to lead by example and be able to guide and assist employees in achieving specific goals and objectives.  Furthermore, the successful candidate must have the ability to troubleshoot effectively and to realign employees as necessary to maintain a safe and viable workplace. Previous experience in the Aluminum or Hot Metal industry would definitely be preferred. Our candidate must be a team player and have ability to work in a steady paced and highly coordinated environment. The successful candidate must be a goal-oriented individual with strong organizational, time management and interpersonal skills.
