Genoa is recruiting a Quality & Risk Coordinator to join our team in Mount Pearl, Newfoundland!
As a Quality & Risk Coordinator, you will play a vital role within the Quality Department to ensure that the Quality Management System (QMS) consistently meets and exceeds the standards and objectives established by Genoa. This includes actively managing and maintaining critical quality tools, monitoring reporting systems, and providing accurate and timely data that drives QMS effectiveness. Your work will help uphold Genoa’s commitment to excellence in quality, ensuring continuous improvement, regulatory compliance, and alignment with our strategic quality goals. Through collaboration with cross-functional teams, you’ll facilitate the effective operation of the QMS, support process improvement initiatives, and foster a culture of accountability and high-quality performance across all levels of the organization.
the day-to-day
As a Quality & Risk Coordinator at Genoa, responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with the Director of Quality & Risk to effectively implement, train, and continuously improve Genoa's Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring alignment with industry best practices and organizational goals.
- Support quality performance on projects by developing, reviewing, and refining procedures, processes, and work instructions; overseeing the creation and maintenance of internal quality system documentation.
- Track and report on key quality metrics, including quality objectives, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and quality improvement data, ensuring they are aligned with Genoa’s overall strategy and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor and manage the Quality App, tracking Nonconformances and Opportunities for Improvement (OFIs). Promote and ensure consistent use of the nonconformance system to drive a culture of continuous improvement across the organization.
- Organize, schedule, and conduct internal audits, ensuring thorough review of documentation and compliance with established quality standards; support external registration audits as needed, ensuring a smooth audit process and timely resolution of findings.
- Deliver training on QMS processes to both new hires and current employees, fostering a culture of quality excellence and ensuring ongoing education on evolving quality management practices.
- Assist in maintaining and updating the risk register, identifying emerging trends, and working cross-functionally to mitigate risks, ensuring that quality risks are effectively managed and documented.
- Review and support compliance with security and regulatory requirements, assisting where applicable to ensure that quality standards are consistently met across all operations.
- Promote and ensure adherence to client requirements, ensuring that client needs are understood, tracked, and met as part of the overall quality management framework.
- Take on additional tasks as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and the ability to support various quality-related initiatives as needed.
your qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree or Diploma in a relevant field (such as Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline), with additional certifications or coursework in Quality Management or Continuous Improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, etc.)
Relevant Experience and Knowledge:
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in Quality Assurance, with a demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and ensure product quality.
- Strong familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System, including expertise in audit management, program development and implementation, and maintaining compliance with ongoing quality standards.
- Proven background in Internal Auditing, Change Management, and Risk Management practices, including the development of mitigation strategies and tracking progress toward key performance indicators (KPIs) and objectives.
- Excellent technical writing skills, with the ability to create clear, concise, and well-organized documentation (e.g., reports, procedures, and quality manuals).
- Experience with risk management processes and the ability to analyze and mitigate potential risks within operational and production environments.
- Experience in document control (preferred), including managing and tracking changes to quality documents, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting audits.
Software Skills: Proficient in SharePoint, MS Word, Excel, Visio, with the ability to manage data and create detailed reports and visuals aids for continuous improvement efforts.
