Reporting to the Seniors Facilities Manager, the Project Coordinator ensures that projects are completed on time and meet the required quality standards within agreed specifications. The role focuses on developing the scope of work, schedules, overseeing start up and close out of the projects, overseeing related contractors, and inspecting projects while ensuring compliance with specifications and health and safety standards.  

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Developing scopes of work, scheduling, and overseeing contractors for various building projects, including renovations and maintenance
  • Handling accident, loss, or damage reports across GEF buildings
  • Completing financial tasks related to insurance claims and dealing with claims adjustors and the Alberta Government
  • Working with contractors selected by the Government of Alberta for restoration and repair work
  • Inspecting and closing out projects while ensuring they meet specifications and health and safety standards
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date documents, including drawings, submittals, and purchase orders
  • Overseeing security-related projects such as access control systems, video security systems, and door hardware upgrades, as well as restoration work due to floods, fire, or smoke

Experience/Education Requirements: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required 
  • Multi-site experience or experience with site over 400,000sq Ft.
  • Experience working in construction, or engineering industries related to mechanical or electrical projects 
  • Experience with Contractor management
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, and Computerized Maintenance Management Software 

Experience/Education Preference: 

  • Project Management Planning Certification is an asset
  • Trades training is an asset
  • Experience working on YARDI or SALTO is an asset
  • Health and Safety Certification is an asset
  • First Aid Certification is an asset

Other Requirements: 

  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Solid understanding of all construction trades
  • Solid knowledge of health & safety programs and Alberta Occupational Health And Safety Act
  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact with everyone in a respectful manner
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail with high standard of accuracy
  • Ability to meet deadlines and respond calmy and effectively to challenging situations
  • Must have a vehicle and valid driver’s license 

Details: Full Time, Days, 37.50 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM 

Pay Scale: Commensurate with education and experience.
