Job Title: Trader (Level 1)
Location: G3 Head Office, Winnipeg (On-Site)
The Trader is responsible to assist in trading strategies for the oilseeds product line. This role is accountable for developing and executing the marketing plan to ensure fluid pipeline execution.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists with sales and commercial purchases.
- Assists the origination team on the coverage of domestic and export sales.
- Determines origination strategy.
- Assists logistics and trade admin teams on the execution of sale contracts and ensures positions are accurate and properly reported.
- Ensures hedges, contracts, pricings and amendments are completed.
- Assists the origination team with sourcing grain on daily basis and as time permits.
- Works at expending both local and export sales.
- Analyzes cash and flat positions daily and adjusts hedges as needed.
- Ensures cash and futures trading fall within established position limits.
- Collaborates with G3 research on development and maintenance of S&D’s.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Post-secondary degree in Business or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in trading commodities for both cash and futures.
- Working knowledge of cash, futures, and options trading.
- Knowledge of GAFTA, NGFA, NAEGA, FOSFA rules.
