Project Team Lead- MLX

Summary:
Under the direction of the Project General Foreman, the Project Team Lead is responsible for the day to day activities for the operations of the assigned project. The incumbent is to conduct all activities in a manner that supports the mission, vision and values of the Fort McKay Group of Companies LP. This is a safety-sensitive position that requires completion of pre-employment/pre-access testing.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee, coordinate, and schedule the activities of the crew operating heavy equipment, other similar equipment, and labourers.
- Directly manage, support, inspire, and provide direction to a large group of employees to meet the requirements of the contract, the client and FMGOC.
- Accountable for safety, quality, schedule and productivity performance to ensure client compliance.
- Maintain relationships with clients in field representative and presence.
- Assist the General Foreman with any Supervisory problem-solving duties relating to the assigned project.
- Collaborate with General Foreman to assist in risk assessment, hazard analysis and job planning.
- Provide the safe execution of work as per the scope of the work and assigned schedule.
- Coordinate with shift safety personnel to ensure all HSE initiatives are being followed, met and exceeded.
- Assist in any incident or injury investigation and ensure it is dealt with in a timely manner.
- Monitor and assist senior management in the career development of the hourly employees.
- Strong interpersonal, communication (verbal/written) and supervisory skills
- Ability to minimize and resolve conflicts in a timely, diplomatic, respectful fashion.
- Perform any related and/or additional duties as assigned.
- Completion of a High School Diploma, or a GED equivalent is required.
- A valid Class 5 License (or equivalent) is required, along with a satisfactory 3-year Drivers Abstract.
- CSTS/ OSSA or CSO or BSO is required.
- Ground Disturbance is an asset.
- Knowledge in MS Office, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook is required. Experience in SAP and/or Ceridian Dayforce is considered an asset.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in Mining and/or Project Operations in a supervisory/leadership role is required.
- Practical understanding of and well-developed skills in open pit mine operations.
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and EWP (Engineering Work Package) drawings.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including good oral, written communication, and listening skills
- Continuously monitor and look for ways to cut costs while maintaining a productive environment for the workers.
- Must be decisive and work well under pressure; particularly when faced with an unexpected occurrence or delay.
- Good time management skills.
This is a full time temporary position located north of Fort McMurray, AB, on the MLX Site (Syncrude Site)
Work schedule: 14 days on, 7 days off; days and nights. 12 hour shift
