About the Position:

The Field Coordinator performs field coordination and site office duties to support construction projects. This role involves updating drawings, measuring site quantities, documenting field records, and assisting in health, safety, and environment (HSE) plans. The coordinator will work closely with superintendents and project managers, providing support for managing trade contractors and other project tasks. This position reports to the Site Superintendant.


Key Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct safety inspections and training, identify hazards and corrections, and lead by example in health and safety practices and procedures.
  • Coordinate third-party inspections and site reviews.
  • Assist Superintendent with workforce planning.
  • Identify on-site issues or in defined work scopes.
  • Track timesheets, orders materials and equipment.
  • Prepare quantity takeoffs for material orders.
  • Assist in creating, implementing and monitoring quality plans, including Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Assist with trade contractor management, including requests for information (RFIs), shop drawings, changes, and billing.
  • Provide day-to-day direction and oversee trade contractor work as per the project schedule.
  • Assist with 3-week lookahead schedules
  • Monitor project performance, production, and cost tracking.
  • Update drawings and specifications.
  • Liaise with trade contractors, consultants, designers, and engineers.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of construction principles, safety practices, and quality management.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple supervisors.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and construction-related software.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

 

Education, Qualifications & Experience:

  • Postsecondary degree or diploma in construction management, engineering, or architecture.
  • 2-5 years of progressive experience as a field engineer/coordinator.
