Position Title: Director, Finance - Savings & Retirement
Reports To: Savings & Retirement Actuarial and Finance Vice President
Department: Savings & Retirement
Term: Permanent Full-Time
Work Arrangements: This is a hybrid role. You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement.

What you will be doing:
- Lead and develop a high-performing accounting and finance team.
- Deliver key business insights and ensure regulatory and financial controls.
- Implement financial process improvements and analyze accounting requirements.
- Support accounting standard changes and provide strategic direction for data analytics.
- Develop and evolve financial analytic dashboards.
- Ensure integrity of financial reporting processes and solve data inconsistencies.
- Conduct complex business and financial analysis.
- Design and monitor financial reporting controls.
- Oversee expense management and divisional budget processes.
- Manage accounts payable and employee expense reimbursements.
- Handle industry, reinsurance, and statistical information requests.
- Oversee sales reporting, target setting, and incentive compensation programs.
- Manage sales projections and strategic plan metrics.
- Oversee the production of the annual policyholder tax slips and federal and provincial reporting requirements.
- Works closely with IT, outsourced Admin systems, and other lines of business within the company to meet CRA imposed timelines.
- SME on Canadian and international policyholder tax considerations as it relates to Savings & Retirement, supporting product development, sales, and administration
- Stay up to date on CRA and other government reporting requirements that impacts both the company and the client as they relate to Savings & Retirement
What you will bring:
- At least 5 years of relevant experience and has obtained, the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation (or international equivalent)
- Post-secondary education, an emphasis on accounting and business administration is considered an asset
- Expert knowledge of accounting standards and policies, business risk and financial controls
- Experience in project management, process improvement implementations and working with cross-functional teams
- Expert communication, interpersonal, negotiation, influencing, problem solving, prioritizing and analytical thinking skills
- Advanced knowledge of accounting systems, Excel, strong knowledge of PowerBI and/or other analytical tools
- Strong management and organizational skills in a fast-paced working environment
- Ability to develop and coach a high-performing Finance team
