Position Title: Technology Specialist, RPA Developer
Reports To: Technology Manager, RPA
Department:
IT Corporate Services  
Term: Permanent Full-Time


Work Arrangements: This is a hybrid role. You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement.


The Opportunity: Equitable is growing! We are looking for a Technology Specialist, RPA Developer to join our IT Corporate Services team.

An RPA Developer plays a key role in the company’s Robotic Process Automation Centre of Excellence. They have the responsibility for supporting and maintaining the process automation delivery framework, collaborating with other process developers, and developing and delivering automated processes across the enterprise.

What you will be doing:

  • Support colleagues through all phases of the automation delivery lifecycle.
  • Obtain and maintain automation platform accreditation.
  • Design and configure automation platform process solutions in accordance with standard automation platform design principles and conventions.
  • Create and maintain solution documentation.
  • Support existing processes and implement change requirements as part of a structured change control process.
  • Solving issues that arise in day to day running of automation platform processes and providing timely responses and solutions as required.
  • Communicating automation platform related issues, suggested improvements and participating with other users in the automation platform community.
  • Working within project planning constraints, communicating any identified project risks and issues to the delivery/project manager accordingly and providing inputs to the change control process.
  • Create and document test procedures and scenarios for pre-UAT phases; support operational teams during UAT and rollout phases.  

 

 
What you will bring:

  • Post secondary degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Knowledge of Business and/or System Analysis in a structured environment. 
  • Understanding of workflow-based logic and the ability to both understand a business process from a workflow diagram and to conceptualize it as an automated solution. 
  • A track record of working in a collaborative team environment. 
  • Willingness and ability to blend business analysis with hands-on configuration of automated processes in the automation platform product. 
  • Great communication skills with the ability to present technical details to a non-technical audience. 
  • The ability to work with a structured and methodical approach, combined with an enquiring mind and ability to take a logical route to the source of an error. 
  • An understanding of, and a willingness to adhere to, formal change control procedures and disciplines. 
  • A self-starter with an aptitude for problem solving and an ability to adapt to new challenges, either on their own or as part of a team. 
  • Previous exposure to Blue Prism automation an asset
