Position Title: Senior Data Reporting Analyst
Reports To: Director, Group Insurance Data Insights & Analytics
Department:
Group Actuarial
Term: Permanent Full-Time

Work Arrangements: This is a hybrid role. You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement

 

 

The Opportunity: Equitable is growing! We are looking for a Senior Data Reporting Analyst to join our Group Actuarial team!

 

As a Senior Data Reporting Analyst at Equitable, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining data models for our data analysis pipelines. Your work will directly support our reporting needs and help automate manual processes to improve efficiency and accuracy. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.

What you will be doing:

  • Design, develop, and maintain data models for data analysis pipelines.
  • Build and optimize data pipelines to support reporting in Power BI.
  • Automate manual processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with data analysts, actuaries, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity throughout the data lifecycle.
  • Implement best practices for data management and governance.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies.

 


What you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in data engineering or a similar role.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, including experience with relevant libraries such as pandas, numpy, statsmodels, scikit-learn, and tensorflow.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL.
  • Experience with database management systems.
  • Experience with data visualization tools, particularly Power BI.
  • Knowledge of statistical, machine learning, and deep learning techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure).
  • Familiarity with big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git).
