Work Arrangements: This is a hybrid role. You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement.


The Opportunity:  Equitable is hiring! We are looking for a Senior Business System Analyst to join our Investment Technology team!

We are looking for a solid candidate to join our Investments Technology team to support the full-scale modernization of our Investment Technologies. The team’s key responsibilities are prioritized towards the investment systems and processes leveraged to manage Equitable assets. The team also maintains and enhances shared technology solutions and infrastructure.

This role will partner with a cross-functional team to scope, test, launch, and refine solutions to optimize the organizations' service experience. They will also be responsible to develop scope and ensure smooth implementation of solutions that support business priorities and capabilities for internal and external clients.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Conduct detailed business analysis to understand and document business requirements related to financial investment technologies.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize business needs and translate them into technical requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a prioritized backlog of deliverables, ensuring alignment with business goals and technology strategy.
  • Work closely with development teams to design, test, and implement technology solutions that enhance investment processes and systems.
  • Analyze and interpret financial data to support decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Provide expertise or strive to become an expert in financial markets, investment products, and regulatory requirements.
  • Facilitate effective communication between business users and technical teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for investment technology projects.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation and continuous improvement.

 


What you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in business system analysis, with a focus on financial industry technologies.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, investment products, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and financial modeling.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies is a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Proficiency with Agile tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps (preferred).
  • Experience with financial software and investment management systems.
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools and techniques.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
