Position Title: Senior Technology Manager, Digital
Reports To: Technical Platform Owner, Individual Insurance IT
Department: IT Individual Insurance
Term: Permanent Full-Time
 

Work Arrangements: This is a hybrid role. You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement.

What you will be doing: 

  • Guiding agile teams in development and design, helping them build scalable and maintainable solutions.
  • Reviewing code and architecture decisions to ensure they align with the best practices and company standards.
  • Helping breakdown complex technical problems and provide practical solutions, offering guidance and hands-on support as needed.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to help define project goals and deliverables, working closely with our business partners.  
  • Overseeing two (2) agile teams planning and execution, ensuring timely delivery without compromising quality.
  • Providing regular 1:1 mentorship and career development support to team members.
  • Fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth within the team, helping individuals achieve their personal and professional goals.


What you will bring:

  • 7+ years of experience in software solution design and development.
  • Working knowledge of .Net, Azure DevOps, Azure Cloud, C#, and React framework.
  • Demonstrated leadership and people management experience with coaching and mentoring.
  • Experience in Agile methodologies and project management tools (Azure is preferred).
  • In-depth knowledge of software development best practices including code reviews, version control, testing, security and CI/CD.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide multiple solution options to business problems.
