Position Title: Lead Technology Specialist, Enterprise Platforms Developer
Reports To: Senior Technology Manager, Enterprise Platforms
Department:
IT Corporate Services
Term:  Permanent Full-Time


Work Arrangements: This is a hybrid role. You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement.


The Opportunity
: 
Equitable is growing!  We are seeking a strong, dynamic and talented individual to join our team of professionals in the capacity of Lead Technology Specialist, Quality, who is looking for an opportunity to bring in testing expertise in both manual and automated testing. This individual will work across agile teams to ensure our applications meet functional, performance and coding standards. This role requires the application of industry best practices for application and software quality testing.



What you will be doing:

  • Lead and improve PeopleSoft BAU processes Health Centre Setup
  • Train on PeopleCode and support
  • Train on PeopleSoft front end processes and business Processes and support
  • Train on BI Publisher and support
  • Support on-prem Windows and SQL domain roadmap
  • Support new Azure resource initiatives
  • Support Integration testing with other LOB’s
  • Support SaaS solutions ie, Mortgage system
  • Support system migrations to Azure where applicable

 


What you will bring:


  • 7 Years experience with PeopleSoft server and database administration
  • 7 Years Windows server administration experience
  • 5 Year SQL server administration experience
  • 5 Years experience working within Oracles customer support representatives
  • Strong understanding of the overall system development methodology
  • Strong understanding of the area’s business, supporting systems, architecture, procedures and functions
  • Developing understanding of Equitable’s business, interfacing and supporting systems, architecture, procedures and functions
  • Proficient in most of the following:
  • Web and client/server architectures
  • Database design
  • MS Office Tools including Microsoft Access
  • SQL, Web development technologies
  • Work experience in an Agile environment
  • Strong understanding and/or exposure to CI/DevOps (GIT, DevOps)
  • Effectively utilize multi-media technology for engaging virtual teams 
  • Proficient in problem resolution and analysis
  • Strong ability to lead, plan and organize major testing deliverables
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to create and maintain strong working relationships
  • Ability to maintain a balance of confidence and approachability
  • Ability to multi-task and remain calm and flexible under tight deadlines
  • Ability to be flexible and exercise judgment in a changing environment
  • Strong leadership skills; actively serves as a coach, mentor and confident
  • Ability to think outside of the box taking into consideration the bigger picture
  • Strong understanding and proven experience in the software testing lifecycle
