About the Role:
Global Edmonton’s News Department is currently seeking a two part-time News Producers to join our team. The successful candidate is required to work a variety of shifts producing news content for Global Edmonton’s market-leading news programs. Applicants should be aware that all shifts including early mornings, days, evenings and weekends are possible. This position reports directly to the Supervisor, News Producer. This is a Group F position in the current collective agreement.

- Oversee, write and produce news content for a variety of live and server-based news programs
- Line up a compelling and dynamic show each day, curating for best content
- Produce local news content from video gathered in the field along with affiliate, national and international content
- Take newscasts to air both from a live control room and server-based playout
- Perform other duties as required
Skills and experience you will bring:
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- A post-secondary diploma, certificate or equivalent in journalism or broadcasting related field
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a news producer and demonstrated understanding of innovative production techniques and technology
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to make quick decisions under pressure while meeting tight deadlines.
- Willingness to adapt to rapidly changing technology and workflows.
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills
- Live control room experience. Server-based production experience is considered an asset.
