PT - Registered Nurse (Prince George)

ROLE PURPOSE
The Registered Nurse, under the direction of the Program Manager, will be responsible for evaluating, planning, executing, and appraising client care at Connective within Juniper House. It aligns with contractual obligations and adheres to the organization's Mission Statement and Core Values, emphasizing service delivery to residents of the Juniper House Program.
REPORTING AND WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
- Reports and is accountable to the Program Manager or their designate
- Liaise with staff and volunteers of community and government agencies as well as members of the public as required
- Demonstrate a leadership style that fosters and encourages partnerships with community groups, organization staff, society contractors, and funders
- Promote positive leadership through working with staff and other managers in a collaborative and collegial manner
LOCATION
Prince George, BC.
HOURS
20 hours per week; Rotational schedule from Monday to Friday, based on Program needs.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Assist/support managers to create, oversee and implement Behavioural Support Plans, Safety plans and Risk management plans for residents in Assisted Living.
- Participate with the Program Manager in development and provision of training, both one on one and group as required, to maintain and enhance staff skills and performance
- Provide advice and recommendations to the organization’s Executive management on program and service issues
- Ensure infection control processes/procedures are adhered to and initiate outbreak measures within the facility
- Oversee, accept and train Health Care Aid’s on delegated restricted activities and ensure compliance/competency is met
- Set up training from IHA Health Care Professionals as needed (Nursing, PT, OT, Dietician, Respiratory Tech, etc.)
- Chart reviews for residents, including monitoring for trends
- Monitoring stats in Seniors Care as related to direct care
- Arranging vaccination clinics at AL site and across the organization
- Review complex resident scenarios and determine an action plan inclusive of IHA
- Perform other related duties as required
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Function independently, while remaining a crucial member of the support team
- Managing multiple concurrent projects and deadlines including assisting in stressful and crisis situations
- Occasional travel to other communities for meetings and training opportunities
- Handle confidential/sensitive material with integrity and discretion
- Adhere to Connective’s policies and procedures
- Participate in administering programs within the organization in accordance with all related contractual agreements
- Available to work flexible hours during the daytime, evenings, and weekends based on operational needs and program requirements.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
- One (1) year recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Experience working in a clinical setting with those living with a mental health diagnosis, developmental or diverse ability, or substance use that affects their day-to-day life
- Experience working with vulnerable populations including those with complex needs
- Experience working from a trauma informed practice approach
- Preference for candidates with knowledge of non-profit work environments, especially the Criminal Justice System and Developmental Disabilities.
REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to successfully complete a Criminal Records Check
- Ability to successfully complete reference check
- Ability to provide a record of work history
- Current Emergency First Aid Certificate
- Proof of vaccination for communicable diseases may be required as mandated by Government, Health Authority, and/or funder requirements
COMPENSATION
The wage range for this role is $49.20 - $63.47 per hour, plus benefits.
