Temporary Full Time Residential Community Living Worker- Overnight Asleep(Diversity Flats)

ROLE PURPOSE
This position will provide residential services to clients who are experiencing mental health issues, and/or live with a developmental disability. Residential Community Living Workers will ensure that residents’ physical, emotional, social and medical needs are met. The asleep residential support worker sleeps through the night, waking to attend to the clients’ needs when necessary. Provides assistance with morning and evening routines.

SHIFT HOURS
Full Time- Candidates 40 Hours/Week.
Rotations as follows:
- Sunday- Thursday

REPORTING AND WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
- Reports and is accountable to the Manager of Community Living Services or their designate
- Function as a multi-disciplinary team member
- Liaises with staff and volunteers of community and government agencies as required
- Liaises with the staff, managers and on-call manager of Connective as necessary
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Sleeps through the night hours but is required to wake in order to attend to unusual nighttime needs that arise with the residents such as hygiene, grooming and toileting
- Ensure that the client, within Connective’s housing facilities, is adequately supervised and that any increase in risk is addressed promptly through the use of appropriate means of intervention and assistance
- Secures the building by arming alarms and locking doors and windows
- Where required, monitor the participant’s medication regime as directed by a psychiatrist and report to same. Assist client to obtain appropriate medical needs
- Administers medication to residents in accordance with established policy
- Complete related records such as log books, charts and incident reports
- Perform other related duties as and when required
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Function independently, while remaining a crucial member of the support team
- Adhere to Connective’s policies and procedures
QUALIFICATIONS
- Highschool Diploma
- Three (3) months related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
REQUIREMENTS
- Criminal Records Checks
- Emergency First Aid
- Class 5 driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
- Proof of vaccination for communicable diseases may be required as mandated by Government, Health Authority, and/or funder requirements.
Compensation
The wage range for this position is $22.94 to $26.28 per hour as per collective agreement
