Job Type: Part time

Hours/Week: 2-4 days per week OR more as mutually determined

Job Type: Fixed term contract

Contract length: 12 months – renewable

Connective Support Society:

Connective Support Society is a social services nonprofit operating in BC and the Yukon to create safe, healthy, and inclusive communities for all. The Connective approach is person-centered, holistic, and inclusive – we provide programs and services with essential supports to vulnerable and marginalized community members, including those involved in the criminal justice system, experiencing homelessness, employment barriers, problematic substance use, mental health challenges, developmental disabilities, or spectrum disorders.

Program Description:

We are a community based nonprofit dental clinic serving those in the community who are unable to afford dental care. The clinic has been running since 2009 and has been recently updated with digital equipment, new chairs etc. and is located in a heritage building in the downtown. We have an experienced support team, established processes and current technology so that you can focus on delivering patient care.

Summary of Position:

We are currently seeking a Part-Time (1-2 days/week, or more) Dentist to join our team in the oceanside community of Nanaimo, on Vancouver Island.

Qualifications:

BCCOHP License (required)

Your qualifications include:

· Graduate from an accredited DDS/DMD program

· Certified with the NDEB

· Licensed and in good standing with the BCCOHP

· Must be eligible to work in British Columbia, Canada

Working Challenges:

When working with a vulnerable population, there can be exposure to adverse environmental working conditions. These can include verbal and physical aggression, which require safety precautions and a calm perspective in approaching the situation. Although there are challenges involved with this role, guidelines and policies are in place to support the employee in the workplace.
