ROLE PURPOSE
This roleprovides efficient, timelyand effective maintenance services within our housing network. A typical day would include providing preventative maintenance services, general custodial duties, unit turnover cleaning and repairs, and troubleshootingunexcepted equipment failures. Typical maintenance and repair issues within the organization’s facilities and operations include (but are not limited to) cleaning, pressure washing, plumbing, HVACmaintenance, carpentry, drywall, and painting.

SHIFT HOURS
Full Time- Candidates
Rotations as follows:
- Monday- Friday (8:30am- 4:30pm)

REPORTING AND WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
- Reports and is accountable to the Manager, Facilities and Maintenance Servicesor their designate
- Establish and maintaineffective working relationships with team members, clientsand partners
- Liaises with the staff, managersand residents as necessary
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Maintain and repair units upon vacancy. Responsibilities typically includes:

- Cleaning
- Simple Plumbing
- Simple Carpentry
- DrywallRepairs
- Wall Painting
- Perform preventative maintenance according to HVAC and Plumbing systemschedules
- Proactively identifyany deficiencies or maintenance issues
- Maintain and repairentry systems and door hardware
- Provide seasonal snow removal and de-icing
- Assistin conductinginspections including thewritingofinspection and incident reports
- Utilizes onlinemaintenance management softwareto organize and prioritize work plans
- Maintain exterior grounds of various Connective properties
- Respond to emergency calls after-hoursand, if necessary, calls in emergency repair requests to vendors
- Complete and maintainan inventory of equipment, partsand supplies
- May assistin training, assigningand checking the work of contractors
- Performs work that requiresstrictadherence to safety proceduresand practices
- Exercise conflict resolutiontact and diplomacy and refer tenants to other staff where appropriate
- Exercise interpersonal and conflict resolution skills when dealing withresidents
- Operates Employer's vehicle(s) including trailers to load, unload and deliver materials, tools and equipment and/or Employer's assets
- Other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge and experience working with building management systems
- 3-5 years maintenance experience
- Trade certificate or experience is a strong asset
- Knowledge of WorkSafeBC safety regulations
- High mechanical aptitude
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft office (Excel and Word)
REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to successfully completeCriminal Records Checks
- Class 5 driver’s licenseand valid driver’s abstract
- Use of personal transportation (truck) that is in good repair, insured for business up to $1,000,000 for liability
- Required to provide confirmation of flu vaccination each year or wear a mask during the flu season
- Be able to lift upto 50 lbs
- Proof of vaccination for communicable diseases may be required as mandated by Government, Health Authority, and/or funder requirements.
Compensation
The wage range for this position is $25 to $30 per hour as per collective agreement
