Labour Foreman - Brentwood

Axiom Builders is seeking a Labour Foreman to support construction management in Burquitlam. The core of this role will be to lead the labor efforts of the team and help to assign and delegate tasks. Working as a right-hand to the site superintendent, you will be the liaison between the various trades and laborers on-site.

Key Responsibilities:

• Working with the labour crew on-site to complete tasks, leading by example where necessary;
• Delegating tasks to your crew, ensuring work is prioritized as needed;
• Aiding and assisting the crew with hands-on tasks when required, and guiding / mentoring those junior team members;
• Join on-site meetings towards to make minor and major site decisions and changes;
• Follow and adhere to the site safety policies, and ensure your crew is aware and informed;
• Maintain a positive working environment, and monitor your crew’s performance/ability/work ethic;
• Display a high level of camaraderie, teamwork, and leadership by example of hard work and working efficiently.

The ideal candidate for the Labour Foreman role is someone who leads by example and possesses a strong work ethic. You should also demonstrate the ability to adapt on the go and thrive in a fast-paced work environment. 

Skills and Experience

• Previous experience in a leadership/ foreman role on a construction project;
• Positive energy, strong work ethic, leadership/ managerial attributes;
• Ability to work independently, as a team, and as a hands-on leader;
• Physically willing and capable to perform necessary tasks (might require moving/ lifting up to 50lbs. weight);
• Strong communications skills, ability to read and understand instructions and plans;
• Knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety policies and procedures;
• Tickets in First Aid, Health & Safety, and Machine Operation are considered a huge asset;
• Flexibility to work longer hours, when necessary, from opening the site to shutting things down at the end of the week.
