Axiom Builders is seeking a Data Engineer to support the development, implementation, and maintenance of our data infrastructure at our head office in Vancouver. Working with cross-functional stakeholders to understand and address data requirements, the Data Engineer will take ownership of the end-to-end data engineering components, develop data pipelines to collect, store and transform data effectively and accurately, while maintaining data engineering and architecture best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines and workflows using Microsoft Fabric;
- Implement medallion data architecture that supports batch data processing;
- Integrate various data sources into a unified data model, leveraging Microsoft Fabric for storage and analytics;
- Create and maintain ETL/ELT processes to load, transform, and cleanse data efficiently;
- Build and maintain optimized, scalable data models for Power BI and other analytics tools and maintain comprehensive documentation for data pipelines, models, and workflows;
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective data solutions;
- Enable advanced analytics and reporting by developing reusable data sets and semantic layers;
- Optimize storage, compute, and data access strategies to balance performance and cost, focusing on Microsoft Fabric capabilities.
- Provide support and guidance to team members or cross-functional teams using Microsoft tools.

Skills and Experience
- Diploma or degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field;
- 3+ years of professional experience in Data Engineering;
- Strong expertise in Microsoft data technology stack including Azure Data Factory, ADLS Gen 2, Azure SQL, Azure Key Vault and Power BI;
- Strong expertise implementing medallion architectures (experience with Microsoft Fabric is an asset);
- Strong expertise in programming PySpark and SQL;
- Experience in Microsoft Power BI, Power Query and other Power Platform tools;
- Analytical mindset with the ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot to resolve complex data-related issues;
- Clear and effective communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders;
- Experience in Construction industry or similar industries is considered an asset;
- Excited to support the growth of data within an organization.
