Facility Services Cleaner
We are recruiting for a Part-Time Caretaker position to provide exceptional customer service and deliver high-quality results. This is a critical position that performs an array of custodial and cleaning tasks at various facilities within the Town of Cochrane, that includes offices, common areas and specific building areas to ensure cleanliness and disinfection for all occupants.
This position is scheduled to work 31 hours per week from 12pm – 10 pm, Monday to Friday. Some flexibility in schedule may be considered based on the needs of the caretaker team.

As a Caretaker, you will:
• Preform various caretaking tasks such as but not limited to; vacuuming, sweeping, moping, dusting, cleaning and tidying areas, including washing of indoor windows and
glass surfaces, and following a pre-scheduled cleaning schedule.
• As part of the Caretaker team with you have the opportunity to review and make recommendations to the cleaning schedule or provide improvements as they are
identified.
• Clean and disinfect washrooms, and as the Cochrane RCMP is part of our organizations team, cleaning of cell block.
• Appropriately dispose of refuse and recycling/composting materials; ensure cleanliness of kitchen areas and perform minor laundering of cleaning supplies.
• Follow SOP’s, review MSDS and follow Town of Cochrane safety policies
• Operate cleaning machines/equipment to carry out custodial tasks, i.e. Push Assist Scrubbers.
• Report non-emergent building deficiencies to the Corporate Properties Service Inbox, and/or call in any observed deficiencies that need immediate repair, to the
on-call operator.
• Ensure that accessed buildings are secured and/or alarmed when entering/exiting.
• Perform special cleaning projects as assigned.

Education and Experience
Required:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience within a cleaning/caretaking environment
• Working knowledge of cleaning equipment, use of cleaning products, and cleaning best practices
Preferred:
• Experience in a commercial cleaning environment
Skills and Abilities
Required:
• Physically able to perform required duties
• Self-motivated and ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Ability to understand and carry out instructions and perform manual tasks
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365
• Excellent customer service
• Excellent time-management skills and ability to prioritize work
• Adaptable to changing work priorities
• Attention to detail
Preferred:
• Knowledge of methods, materials and equipment used in performing routine maintenance
Certifications, Licenses and/or Designations
Required:
• Ability to obtain RCMP Advance Reliability Security Clearance (10 Year background check)
• Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License
• Clear Criminal Record Check
• Driver's Abstract
Preferred:
• WHMIS
• Fire Extinguisher Training
• Standard First Aid and CPR
