Claridge Homes Health and Safety Representative
The Roles and Responsibilities are:
- Working within a team environment implementing and supporting of the Claridge Homes Health and Safety program.
- Maintenance and implementation of the Claridge Homes Health and Safety policy and the occupational health and safety act and regulations of Ontario.
- Conduct and oversee site training for all staff and trades (as needed) as well as safety onboarding for all new staff.
- Maintain records of training for site staff and trades.
- In conjunction with the Site Supervisor, conduct site safety inspections (daily, weekly, monthly etc.) and any required tool box talks.
- Conduct any incident accident reporting and/or associated investigations.
- Participate in all site Ministry of Labour inspections under the direction of the Site Supervisor and Health and Safety Officer, and support the implementation of any recommendations and/or orders from the Ministry.
- Communicate with Site Supervisors and provide solutions that eliminate site hazards.
- Track and review all safety infractions.
- Organize, participate in and prepare minutes for all JHSC meetings to promote the Health and Safety program.
- Maintain all health and safety equipment on site (Fall Protection kits, First Aid kits, Eyewash stations, Site signage, Fire Extinguishers, CO monitors, AED’s, etc.)
- Complete any hazard remediation or elimination on the spot, or at the direction of the site management.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- High school diploma
- 2 to 5 years’ experience in construction, is a must.
- Understanding of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and associated regulations
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Strong attention to detail with strong organizational skills
- Dependable, Reliable, Adaptable & Flexible
- Time management and ability to prioritize
- Valid Driver’s License, with regular access to a reliable vehicle.
