Personal Support Worker (North York, Scarborough and York)

 

Job Description:

 

As a PSW with Circle of Care you will provide the highest quality of care to your clients in the community. You understand that your clients are dealing with illness or frailty, and simple tasks can prove challenging for them. Your job involves providing personal care to seniors living in their homes including: grooming, bathing, dressing, toileting and meal preparation. You may also be asked to perform some light housekeeping, and companionship or emotional support. You are comfortable travelling to and from client’s homes throughout the day within the community. 


We are currently seeking full and part time Personal Support Workers in these areas to start immediately:

 

  • North York (For 8 am - 6 pm and 9 am - 5 pm on weekdays; For 8 am - 6 pm on weekends; For 7 am - 5 pm; 8 am - 6 pm; 12 pm - 9 pm; 1 pm - 11 pm and 3 pm - 11 pm on both weekdays and weekends)
  • Scarborough (For 8 am - 5 pm and 4 pm - 11 pm on weekdays; For 8 am - 5 pm and 4 pm - 11 pm on weekends; For 7 am - 4 pm; 8 am - 6 pm on both weekdays and weekends)
  • Etobicoke (For 6 am - 2 pm; 7 am - 3 pm; 8 am - 5 pm and 6 pm - 11 pm on both weekdays and weekends)
  • Don Mills (For 7 am - 5 pm; 8 am - 8 pm and 3 pm - 11 pm on both weekdays and weekends)
  • York Mills (For 7 am - 4 pm; 8 am - 6 pm and 4 pm - 10 pm on both weekdays and weekends)
  • Richmond Hill (For 7 am - 3 pm and 3 pm - 10 pm on both weekdays and weekends)
  • Woodbridge (For 7 am - 3 pm and 3 pm - 10 pm on both weekdays and weekends)
  • York (For 9 am - 5 pm on weekdays; For 6 am - 2 pm; 7 am - 3 pm; 8 am - 4 pm and 6 pm - 11 pm on both weekdays and weekends)

Qualifications:

 

  • Current Immunization Records
  • Fluency in both verbal and written English
  • Able to access and utilize ZOOM
  • Personal Support Worker (PSW) Certificate from a curriculum approved by the Ministry of Colleges and Universities or Ministry of Education OR
  • Developmental Support Worker (DSW) Certification OR
  • Registered Nurse (RN)/Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) student with a minimum successful completion of one year of school OR
  • Foreign-trained Registered Nurse, Registered Practical Nurse, Midwife or Physician


We also accept candidates with the following educational backgrounds:

 

  • Home Support Worker (Level II or Level III) Certification OR
  • Health Care Aide or Personal Attendant PA+2 OR
  • Registered Nurse (RN)/Registered Practical Nurse (RPN)/Paramedic Certificate OR
  • Physiotherapy Assistant/Occupational Therapy Assistant/Communications Disorder Assistant Certificate from a recognized community college OR
  • Is registered with and/or successfully completed the Certification exam required to register with the Ontario Association of Child and Youth Care (OACYC); OR
  • Foreign-trained Paramedic, Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Speech Language Pathologist, Social Worker, Dietician.


You are especially needed if you:

 

  • Are available to work both on the weekdays and on the weekends
  • Drive and have access to a car
  • Speak another language other than English (e.g. Russian, Mandarin, Cantonese, Tamil, French, Italian, or Spanish)
