The Role:
As a Security System Designer specializing in physical security, your primary responsibility will be to create and implement tailored security systems that protect our clients' facilities. Working on a project basis and reporting to the VP, Security and Smart Technologies, you'll lead the design process, ensuring the security systems are highly effective.
What you’ll do:
- Manage day-to-day aspects of each work package on assigned projects, including its scope and budget.
- Collaborate closely with project teams and clients to assess specific physical security needs and develop comprehensive security system designs.
- Design, implement, and configure physical security systems, including access control, surveillance cameras, and intrusion detection systems.
- Conduct thorough on-site assessments of building access points and surveillance camera coverage to inform your system designs.
- Ensure the seamless integration of designed security systems with client facilities and their security policies and procedures.
- Stay at the forefront of emerging physical security trends, technologies, and threats, incorporating them into your system designs.
- Provide training and guidance to clients and their staff to ensure they understand and utilize the security systems effectively.
What you’ll bring:
- Degree or diploma in a related field such as security management, security systems technology, electrical engineering, or computer science.
- Industry certification is an asset (examples include ASIS Board Certified, PSP, CPP)
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a physical security-related role, with an emphasis on security system design and implementation.
- Expertise in physical security tools and technologies, including access control systems and surveillance cameras.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly within the context of security system design.
- Proficiency in industry-specific design software and tools.
- In-depth knowledge of physical security best practices, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders in a project-based consulting environment.
- Strong organization and time management skills.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain Government of Canada Secret clearance. Asset: existing Secret clearance.
- Bilingual (English/French) is an asset.
