We are seeking a full-time corporate legal assistant to join its growing legal team in our Montreal office. The candidate will collaborate and participate with internal teams and provide administrative assistance to Canderel’s corporate paralegal and the broader legal group.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • File notices, annual reports, declarations, registrations and other various documents with the relevant authorities (Corporations Canada, Registre des Entreprises, Ontario Business Registry, etc.).
  • Maintain records and minute books of various corporate entities.
  • Draft annual resolutions and various documents related to changes that need to be integrated in the records of the corporate minutes.
  • Update and ensure the accuracy of the summaries, lists and databases of the department.
  • Perform other general administrative responsibilities such as email correspondence, and filing.
  • Manage calendars, filing deadlines and billing as required.
  • Provide administrative support and perform general procedural tasks, such as communicating with the Registre des Entreprises and similar.

 

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • CEGEP degree in administration or equivalent experience / Legal assistant certificate or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of three (3) year of professional experience in a similar position.
  • Excellent oral and writing skills in French and English. Please note that due to the nature of the position, a proficient level of English is required to communicate on a regular basis with employees outside of Quebec.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Outlook, Word and Excel).
  • Knowledge of Athennian an asset (or experience with minute book database program).
  • Great attention to detail.
