What You'll Get to Do
Reporting directly to the Property Manager, the Property Maintenance Technician is responsible for actioning all assigned daily maintenance on facility and building projects as well as special construction projects where required. 

  • Mechanical work involving dismantling, overhauling, repairing, fabrication, assembling, testing, cleaning, and painting work related to equipment and facilities, pipelines, filtration systems, pumps, motors, valves, equipment, tanks, building, HVAC systems, electrical equipment, instrumentation, computer systems, communications systems, hydrant fuel distribution systems, equipment, and facilities
  • Conduct routine maintenance on all Calm Air buildings/facilities including special projects
  • Action day-to-day coordination and completion of all assigned facility projects
  • Respond to all ad-hoc facility related requests
  • Prepare and deliver project status updates and provide summaries to the Property Manager
  • Work alongside external contractors on special projects
  • Must be able to read and interpret schematics, diagrams, blueprints, and plans of an electrical and mechanical nature
  • Creation of budgets for all scopes of work based on approved plans
  • Report on any concerns regarding timelines or budgets with recommended course of action
  • Conduct material estimation and acquisition for various projects
  • Promote and adhere to all Occupational Health & Safety practices within the department
  • Engage in ongoing cost reduction analysis
  • Maintain the CMMS system
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills & Experience We Value 

  • 2-5 years construction experience required
  • Working knowledge of facilities and maintenance equipment, drawings, specifications, building material and required standards
  • Ability to interpret plans and specifications
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and complete projects within tight timelines
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Manitoba Class 5 driver’s license
  • Ability to lift 75 lbs
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Restricted Airport Identification Card (RAIC)
  • Travel is a requirement of this position (approximately 40-60%)
  • Inuktitut language considered an asset
  • Preference will be given to Inuit Land Claims Beneficiaries
