IT Summer Student

As a summer student, you will have the opportunity to contribute as part of our team, work alongside and learn from experienced and talented professionals. Reporting to the Director, IT, Cyber Security & Business Transformation, you will be assigned to various IT operations-related tasks through the Technical Support Ticketing system, among other relevant responsibilities. This is an on-site position.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the IT team in expediting Technical Support Tickets and assignments
- Support business and enterprise applications
- Assist in creating and generating data-related reports from applications
- Provide written documentation in accordance with BHI standards as necessary
- Assist with desktop support and deployment of new PCs/laptops
- Support network administration tasks
- Monitor and record resource utilization (CPU, disk, memory)
- Monitor backups to ensure data integrity
- Provide support for VoIP telephone systems
- Assist with telecommunications support
- Prepare IT operations-related documentation
- All other duties as assigned
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with strong academic standing
- Knowledge of operating systems, virtual machines, mail filters, network administration, vulnerability and patch management, release upgrade management, VPN communications, telecommunications, cloud and hosting-related technology solutions, and desktop technical support would be an asset

- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills for resolution of Technical Support Tickets and assignments efficiently
- Advanced organizational and technical skills to independently manage work assignments and priorities
- Results-oriented mindset with a strong sense of accountability and ownership to ensure timely task completion
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including reading comprehension, to communicate effectively
- Strong interpersonal and customer relations skills to support collaboration and user interactions
