Buckland is looking for a Sr. Accountant

What you’ll be doing

This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing/ analyzing financial statements, and providing financial insights to support decision-making.

You will be responsible for

• Support Junior and Intermediate staff with compilation of monthly financial package, including reviewing statements for accuracy.
• Prepare year end account reconciliation and reporting in preparation of year-end review by external auditors.
• Work with Line of Business owners to prepare annual budget.
• Support with government filings and stay current with relevant tax legislation.
• Manage cash flow forecasting for all business units.
• Maintain insurance, bond summary, and follow up with renewals as required.
• Participate in cross-departmental projects as a Finance subject matter expert.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within the department and work to develop and implement process changes.
• Collaborate with team and departments to develop and manage reporting

What we need from you

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or related discipline.
• Working towards or recently completed an accounting designation.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience at an intermediate financial level, or equivalent.
• Strong critical thinking skills.
• Highly adaptable to changing technology.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Access, Word).
• Strong interpersonal and multi-tasking skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be legally eligible to work for the Company at all times.
