As an Engineering Lab Technician at Emcara, you will be a vital part of our team, focusing on the hands-on assembly, testing, and maintenance of our high-pressure valve systems. This role requires an individual who is not only proficient with hand tools and mechanical work but also has a strong foundation in computer skills, which will be used to complement and enhance your hands-on tasks. While programming and computer-based skills are valuable assets, this position is primarily focused on practical, physical work.

Qualifications
- Degree – Mechanical or Electronic Engineering Technician/Technologist
- Previous experience in mechanical assembly, high-pressure systems testing, and the use of hand tools is required

Skills
- Basic computer skills for data logging and reporting required.
- Programming Capabilities – C++, Dasylab or Labview Database programming preferred
- Proficient with hand tools and a natural inclination towards hands-on mechanical work
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Attention to detail and ability to follow experimental procedures accurately
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Commitment to safety and adherence to ethical standards in scientific research
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written

Job Responsibilities
- Assemble, test, and maintain high-pressure valves and related components using hand tools.
- Perform precise measurements, calibrations, and adjustments to ensure the functionality, safety, and performance of products.
- Perform tests as directed by engineers, which may involve setting up equipment, running tests, collecting data, and documenting results.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory and production test equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform routine maintenance tasks to keep instruments in optimal working condition.
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. This includes proper handling of hazardous materials, wearing appropriate protective gear, and following safety guidelines during experiments.
- Conduct hands-on troubleshooting and repairs to ensure quality and reliability.
- Build or improve simple production equipment to enhance laboratory or production efficiency.
- Collect and record data accurately during experiments. Assist in data analysis by organizing and presenting findings clearly and concisely.
- Utilize programming capabilities (e.g., C++, Matlab, Microsoft Excel Visual Basics, Python, DaisyLab) and other software tools for data processing and analysis as needed.
- Maintain detailed records of experimental procedures, observations, and results.
- Ensure that experiments and tests are conducted in accordance with quality standards and regulatory requirements. Follow established protocols and procedures to maintain consistency and reliability in experimental outcomes.
- Provide training and guidance to students, interns, or junior technicians who assist in laboratory activities. Share knowledge and expertise to facilitate skill development and promote a culture of continuous learning.
