ASSISTANT PROFESSOR - INDIGENOUS STUDIES   

NORTHERN CAMPUS

1 year term

 

First Nations University of Canada invites applications for a one year term position in Indigenous Studies at the rank of Assistant Professor. This position is located at the Northern Campus. The position will continue pending review at the end of the first year.

Duties and Qualifications:

 

The successful candidate will teach a total of five courses in the academic year.  These courses include teaching various INDG topics (culture, history, and contemporary issues). Applicants should have knowledge of Indigenous protocols and in addition to teaching and research, be prepared to work with Elders and communities, and participate in university committees.

 

The candidate must have a PhD (or near completion) in Indigenous Studies or a related field.  The candidate should be prepared to teach Indigenous Studies courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.  Experience working and teaching in a First Nations environment and the ability to speak a First Nations language would be an asset.  Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
