First Nations University of Canada invites applicants for the position of Research Assistant for the research project, “Comparative Analysis of Birth and Death Time Series in Indigenous and Non-Indigenous Populations in Canadian Provinces and The Effect of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Them”. The project is supported by the Canadian Institute of Health Research within The Network Environments for Indigenous Health Research (Saskatchewan) program.
Duties:
- Assist in literature reviews and background research
- Develop abstracts of collected literature
- Assist in facilitating interviews with Indigenous Elders
- Transcribe interviews
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled as a student at a Canadian University at senior level or graduate student (preferable)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Word and Excel
- Previous research experience (preferred but not required)
- Respect for confidentiality and sensitivity in handling sacred and traditional information.
