First Nations University of Canada invites applicants for the position of Research Assistant for the research project, “Comparative Analysis of Birth and Death Time Series in Indigenous and Non-Indigenous Populations in Canadian Provinces and The Effect of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Them”. The project is supported by the Canadian Institute of Health Research within The Network Environments for Indigenous Health Research (Saskatchewan) program.

 

Duties:

 

  • Assist in literature reviews and background research
  • Develop abstracts of collected literature
  • Assist in facilitating interviews with Indigenous Elders
  • Transcribe interviews
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

 

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled as a student at a Canadian University at senior level or graduate student (preferable)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel
  • Previous research experience (preferred but not required)
  • Respect for confidentiality and sensitivity in handling sacred and traditional information.
