The Role

 

The Manager of Quality Assurance (QA) ensures that the company adheres with national and international standards, including ISO 9001:2015.  QA will also work with the organization in adjacent areas to ensure continuous improvement aligned to best practices and standards such as ISO 27001, CMMI, Configuration Management, other QMS standards, IPC Standards, MIL, NATO AQAP, DNV GL, IEC 60945, and IMO regulations. This involves creating, reviewing, and implementing policies, procedures, and best practices at OSI. Responsibilities also include interpreting audit and compliance requirements for different departments, assist in establishing, reviewing and updating processes, procedures and work instructions within the Quality Management system (QMS) framework,  liaising with external auditors for ISO audits, controls, and risk assessments. Additionally, the QA Manager  develops detection tools and conducts gap analysis on best practices to strengthen OSI risk and compliance framework.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Reporting factual findings on process and product audits, along with updates on QMS status and customer satisfaction, to the VP of Finance and members of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT). Also, ensuring ongoing improvement of QMS alongside quality objectives and business goals
  • Lead and execute audit and compliance projects including reporting to key stakeholders
  • Monthly reporting to Senior management on CSAT, CAR status, Continuous Improvement, Objectives tracking, MRB status, and performance
  • Ensures that QMS continuous improvement is occurring in conjunction with quality objectives, business strategies, improving costs, efficiency, and or customer satisfaction
  • Ensures that Quality Management Review meetings occur to confirm the QMS continuing suitability, adequacy and effectiveness
  • Overseeing the QA Analyst responsibilities
  • QMS system auditing, scheduling, and leading a team of internal auditors to complete internal audit cycle and reporting, and assessment of conformity to ISOs obtained for all sites globally
  • Managing the company internal audit program to ensure compliance to ISO 9001, audit team competence, and accurate records and NC reporting to senior management
  • Assist ELT with routine corporate, and Divisional / Department KPI reminders and tracking of monthly progress
  • Manages reporting of non-conformities and the internal corrective action (CAR) process improvements 
  • Supports site process audits by customers, third parties, and regulatory agencies
  • Supports the ELT in managing the quality objectives (goals) process for the organization including reporting performance metrics to the ELT
  • Acts objectively as the quality authority for factory acceptance tests, product testing and assessments in support of the PMO, Systems Engineering, and on behalf of the customer
  • Reporting of departmental KPI’s, performance indicators, CSAT, Objectives process, Continuous improvement, and monthly non-conformity status
  • Assists all employees when needed on process development, methods, changes, and effective process implementation across the organization
  • Administer the QMS repository by maintaining indexes and establishing a ready reference so employees can easily locate and use applicable processes throughout the business cycle
  • Engage in onboarding new employees to bring awareness to OSI QMS related details
  • Manages customer project satisfaction surveys, and CSAT results reporting
  • Drives continuous improvement in the organization and supports all management and staff in achieving total quality management
  • Define clear responsibilities for each team member, provides ongoing management, mentorship, and support, and ensures effective performance management. Foster a team-based office culture, promoting open and transparent communication among all team members

You Bring 

  • A Bachelor’s degree, engineering degree, or post graduate diploma in Quality Assurance, or engineering technology, is preferred and/or relevant working experience.
  • Certified Quality Management Systems Auditor, certified auditing team leader, or relevant process auditing experience
  • Previous experience as Manager of Quality or Quality Engineer or Quality Auditor, or equivalent would be an asset
  • Previous experience with document control, process control, process development, quality control, business process management (BPM), electronic or mechanical manufacturing, configuration management is highly beneficial
  • Excellent organizational, communications, and reporting skills, including the ability to influence across disciplines
  • Can contribute to, and effectively operate within the leadership team
  • Ability to effectively lead, manage, and develop excellent employees
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to support all departments
  • Can act, assess, and report objectively to senior management
