The Opportunity

 

As an Instrumentation Summer Student, you will have the unique opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience that can be applied to the remaining years of your technical training as well as your working career that will follow. This opportunity will allow you to gain insight into the specifics of your trade. This position requires both field and office work, in order to become fully proficient in the role. 

 

WORK TERM: 4 Months – May – August 2025 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

This position will support North and South E/I Technicians as well as the Automation team: 

  • Shadow and support E/I technicians to gain work experience 
  • Shadow & support Measurement Technicians to gain work experience 
  • Shadow & support Automation Technicians to gain work experience 
  • Perform basic transmitter calibrations 
  • Support E/I technicians with the preventative maintenance program work orders 

  

Qualifications and Experience

 

Education:

  • Must be enrolled in an Instrumentation Engineering Technology Program at an accredited post secondary institution 
  • You must be returning to full-time studies after the work term

  

Skills and Experience:

  • Good overall computer skills and proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • High attention to details and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment 
  • Basic knowledge of instrumentation  
  • Basic knowledge of test equipment utilized to test instruments
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a satisfactory driver abstract
  • This is a safety sensitive position and successful candidates will be required to successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing as a condition of employment
