WHAT WILL YOU DO

This role involves providing in-depth financial and business insights through financial modelling, business case analysis and cross-functional leadership to support operational and strategic decision-making while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. The position requires a combination of analytical expertise, leadership skills, and strategic thinking.

Financial Planning & Analysis team is the trusted partner for each business unit and provides financial advice, expertise, and insights to support operational and strategic decision-making. The team comprises energetic finance professionals who strive for financial and operational excellence and exceptional customer service, challenge the status quo, and focus on continuous improvement.

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Lead the development of standardized business case templates to support operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Support in the implementation and development of business case strategy and governance, working with cross-functional teams to deliver complex business cases for investment approval.
  • Analyze financial trends, market conditions, and business performance to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Develop and maintain complex short-term and long-term financial models and provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making across the organization.
  • Oversee the annual budgeting and recurring forecasting processes, including variance analysis and financial projections.
  • Prepare and present financial reports, dashboards, and performance metrics to senior management.
  • Identify and implement  process improvements and efficiencies in financial analysis and reporting
  • Provide support to FP&A team members, promoting a culture of continuous learning and professional growth
  • Provide support, guidance and leadership to cross-functional teams on all related analysis and modelling activities
  • Support ad-hoc analysis and special projects as needed to drive business decisions and strategic initiatives.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING

  • The ability to gain and maintain a RAIC (RAIC Program and Application Information)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) designation or similar qualification.
  • 8+ years of related FP&A experience with a clear progression of roles and responsibilities.
  • Expertise in developing complex financial models to forecast performance, evaluate scenarios, and support strategic planning.
  • Ability to translate financial analysis into strategic recommendations that drive business decisions and operational improvements.
  • Skilled in using advanced financial software and ERP & EPM systems such as SAP, Oracle, Hyperion, or Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Advanced capabilities in Excel, including proficiency in complex formulas, pivot tables, and data visualization tools.
  • Proficiency in presenting financial data and insights clearly and effectively to senior management, board members, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong ability to build relationships and collaborate with various departments, influencing decisions and fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Capability to approach complex financial issues with a strategic mindset, identifying root causes and developing effective solutions.
  • Ability to think creatively and develop new approaches to improve financial processes and reporting.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven commitment to delivering exceptional customer service to diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Collaborative team player who works effectively with peers and colleagues to support the Authority's mission.
