Equipment Operator II – Roads and Solid Waste

The Role

The Equipment Operator II will be highly skilled in operating heavy equipment, including equipment such as excavators and graders. This position is responsible for the safe and skilled operation of equipment owned or leased by the Town. This position will also be required to perform a wide variety of duties and tasks associated with position descriptions of equal or lesser responsibilities as well as have mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills as well as leadership and organizational skills

 

To be successful you will have a grade 12 education or equivalent. Must be skilled at operating heavy equipment with five (5) years related; In addition, you will have a valid Class 3Q Alberta driver’s license. You will be able to demonstrate your knowledge of the practices, procedures and principles used in all aspects of asphalt roadways, municipal concrete program, overland drainage, sign installation, traffic control devices, street sweeping, and snow and ice control. Must possess Standard First Aid with CPR Level C, Confined Space Entry and rescue, Equal Potential Grounding certificate, Trenching and, fall arrest, Flag Person
