Communications Assistant - INTERNAL ONLY
Term - Three (3) Months
At the Town of High River, people come first. We are looking for a Communications Assistant to join our organization and contribute to our culture focused on accountability, connection, and excellence.
The Role
This role provides overall digital, multi-media and design support to the communications team, assisting with a variety of internal and external communications projects. The position will be responsible for providing specialized technical support with a focus on design, content and functionality of the organization’s website, development of social media posts, photography and video projects and other assistance required to produce professional communications products.
To be successful, you have Diploma in Communications Studies or working towards a Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or a related field with one (1) to three (3) years working experience. Municipal experience and understanding of municipal services and communications needs is an asset. Understanding emergency and crisis communications is considered an asset. You are highly proficient in the English language and have exceptional writing and editing skills with knowledge of the Canadian Press Style standards. Strong working knowledge with software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Word Press, and Microsoft Office will assist you in generating polished, engaging, and current products. Your interpersonal skills which focus on providing excellent service will support you in your interactions with your internal and external customers.
