Position Summary
All members of the Kenroc team will demonstrate respect and ethical conduct, will work safely, provide excellent customer service, and will work with the team to support superior performance in the achievement of both individual and company goals.
Reporting to the Operational Leader, a Material Handlers primary responsibility is to assist Company delivery drivers in making safe and damage free deliveries. Deliveries may require the operation of equipment such as articulated truck mounted booms, forklifts and/or conveyors. A Material handler will be authorized to operate such equipment providing required licensing, certification or training has been met. As an ambassador of the Company, the material handler is required to conduct themself in a professional manner, including a willingness to work collaboratively and respectfully with customers and team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Understands and ensures consistent compliance with company policy, procedures, and safe work practices.
- Understands the basics of load securement, working around equipment, and the roll of the material handler in the delivery process.
- To repeatedly handle heavy lifting and carrying in a fast-paced work environment.
- Safely uses delivery tools and equipment.
- Efficiently completes internal safety documentation with a keen attention to detail.
- Takes direction well, able to produce quality work with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
As a member of the Kenroc Team, employees may be requested to contribute to duties outside of the role’s main scope of responsibilities as per required qualifications, licensing, and safety certifications.
Skills & Qualifications
- GED (Grade 12) and at least one (1) year of heavy lifting experience is required.
- Class 5 driver’s license is an asset, proof of which will be required prior to being authorized to operate a Company Class 5 vehicle.
- Fall restraint and/or Customer Service training is an asset.
Competencies
- Repetitively lift up to 110 lbs.
- Possess the ability to communicate effectively with the delivery team, vendors and customers.
- Work collaboratively within a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrate the ability to work in a respectful and ethical manner.
Pre-employment Conditions
