Enterprise Architect
Position Overview
Provides strategic leadership and technical expertise in the design, development, and implementation of Richardson Wealth’s Advisor platform modernization. Leads the creation and governance of the enterprise architecture framework, aligning business strategy with IT capabilities, and ensuring seamless integration across platforms, including Salesforce Advisor Cloud, Envestnet, and Dataphile (Fidelity Clearing Canada). Collaborates with executive stakeholders, business leaders, IT teams, and external vendors to deliver scalable, secure, and compliant solutions that are future-ready, leveraging a blend of strategic vision, technical depth, and extensive experience in wealth management, enterprise systems architecture, and digital transformation.
Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic Alignment
• Partner with business executives to understand strategic objectives, operating models, and business capabilities.
• Define and maintain the enterprise architecture blueprint that aligns with the firm’s digital strategy and business objectives.
• Serve as a bridge between executive strategy and delivery teams to ensure architectural integrity and execution consistency.
Architecture Leadership
• Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of enterprise technology platforms (e.g., Salesforce Advisor Cloud).
• Provide architectural oversight and governance across core platforms (e.g., Envestnet, Dataphile) and integration points.
• Define current and target state architecture and lead gap analysis and roadmap development.
Technology Modernization
• Guide system modernization efforts include legacy system rationalization, cloud adoption, and enterprise integration.
• Recommend frameworks, tools, and platforms to drive innovation, automation, and data-driven decision-making.
Stakeholder Engagement
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and solution teams on architecture-related decisions.
• Collaborate with business units, advisors, operations, compliance, and IT teams to gather requirements and ensure architecture meets regulatory and business needs.
• Lead architecture reviews and present to senior leadership.
Governance & Best Practices
• Establish architecture review boards and governance processes including enterprise architecture standards, policies, and reference architectures.
• Monitor industry trends, assess emerging technologies, and recommend adoption paths.
• Evaluate vendor solutions and third-party platforms, including Salesforce and wealth management software.
Qualifications
• 10+ years in enterprise architecture, solution architecture, or technology strategy roles.
• 5+ years of experience in the wealth management, banking, or financial services sector.
• Proven experience designing and implementing architecture strategies for complex, integrated environments.
• Strong understanding of enterprise integration patterns, data governance, API-led architecture, and security principles.
• Strong experience with Salesforce (preferably Advisor Cloud), Envestnet, Dataphile, and integration technologies (e.g., APIs, Mulesoft, ETL).
• Deep knowledge of wealth management processes, CRM, portfolio management systems, and compliance/regulatory requirements.
• Knowledge of wealth management value chains – client onboarding, KYC/AML, portfolio management, financial planning, compliance, etc.
• Experience with data architecture, cloud architecture (Azure or AWS), and security best practices.
• Excellent communication, influence, and facilitation skills at both the technical and executive levels
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field; MBA or Master’s degree is a plus
• Certifications such as TOGAF, Salesforce Architect, or AWS/Azure Solution Architect would be an asset.
Nice to have
• Familiarity with Canadian regulatory and compliance standards (e.g., CIRO, IIROC, MFDA).
• Experience in hybrid environments with both on-prem and cloud infrastructure.
