Product Manager, Content
Position Type: Full-time, Permanent
Location: (Remote) Canada
- Work with key business stakeholders to understand and define problem statements to be shaped into products and prioritization for road map execution that are backed by market feedback, research, and business OKRs (Objectives and Key Results).
- Develop business cases and PRDs (Product Requirements Document) and iterate based on insights from qualitative and quantitative data; market feedback, trends, competitors, user research, and analytics.
- Translate product requirements into actionable bite-sized user stories
- Lead development and day-to-day scrum activities and technical teams by providing clarity on requirements, removing roadblocks, and understanding technical limitations.
- Work with Go-To-Marketing teams; Design, Research, Audience, Analytics, Marketing, and others, to ensure a successful product launch.
- Think strategically about our Content Monetization portfolio and continuously identify,analyze, and solve ambiguous problems and/or capitalize on business opportunities.
- Remain abreast of customer needs, market drivers, and our competition within the digital media landscape to gain key insights and help us plan for tomorrow.
- Digital media and news industry knowledge; licensing and syndication, affiliate marketing, sponsored content, advertising, audience, analytics, and performance optimization.
- Technical fluency; understanding of ad tech capabilities, industry challenges, technical limitations, and vendor solutions.
- Process oriented and self-starter who follows through with end-to-end executions
- Data-driven and results-oriented decision maker who strives to find solutions in collaboration with others
- Innovative and strategic thinker who acts tactically to build and optimize the product road-map to reach business targets and deliverables
- Effective communication & presentation skills with the ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- University degree with business and media discipline preferred
- 3-5 years in digital product and development management, publisher media preferred
- Familiar with analytic tools and understanding for metric needs, including Google Analytics, Parsley, Looker, Google Lighthouse, Google Console, and Google Ad Manager.
- Software development methodologies and tools, including JIRA, Agile, and Shape Up.
- Analytical and quantitative skills; experience using analytics, data, and metrics to test theories, confirm assumptions, and measure success.
