Printing Maintenance - Electrician - Continental Day Shift (7:30AM - 7:30PM)
POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Printing Maintenance Supervisor the Electrician is responsible for supporting the daily manufacturing electrical operations of printing machines , identifying continuous improvement opportunities that provides manufacturing reliability and productivity and providing day-to-day technical support to enable achievement of production targets and Printing Dept. objectives.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITES:
- Provide Day to Day Technical Support to Printing Operations by Installing, maintaining and troubleshooting electrical systems.
- Take ownership and lead resolution of escalated day to day electrical problems using the problem-solving methodology.
- Attend and communicate electrical issues and other information at shift changeover meetings.
- Provide feedback to Printing Maintenance Supervisor and Lead Hand Electrician on the compliance to processes and procedures.
- Implement Continuous Improvements by identifying improvement opportunities.
- Participate in improvement projects and establishment of associated Standard Work.
- Facilitate implementation of maintenance process changes on the shift.
- Assist in accreditation of new or upgraded processes.
- Assist process engineer in establishing requirements for documentation, spare parts and preventative maintenance programs for new projects.
- Identify and communicate to Printing Maintenance Supervisor personnel skill gaps and opportunities.
- Participate with Printing Maintenance Supervisor to establish skill development and training plans.
- Train personnel as required.
- Always comply with plant safety and HACCP, using appropriate PPE while performing various duties
- Monitor and Ensure Health & Safety / HACCP & SQF / 5S Compliance, including proactively identify and suggesting ways to eliminate hazards and participating in safety Investigations when required.
- Must follow food safety and cGMP processes and procedures
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Educational Requirements: Must be a licensed Industrial Electrician
Minimum Experience/Field: Two years’ experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Computer Skills: Good PC skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Licenses/Permits Required: Industrial Electrical license (in Ontario)
Physical Requirements: Heavy lifting and prolonged standing is required. Walking, climbing, reaching, bending, kneeling, pushing and pulling and some repetitive arm, wrist and shoulder movements are required in this position.
Communication Skills: Proven track record working with people and problem resolution and strong interpersonal, collaboration skills
Additional Education/Experience/Skills:
- Ability to read, interpret and revise relay and ladder logic, power distribution drawings and documentations.
- Ability to install, maintain and troubleshoot AC/DC motors, drives sensors and detectors
- Knowledge of terminology and operation of PLC-based control systems.
