Commercial Analyst
Job Summary
As a Commercial Analyst based in Toronto, Ontario, you will be at the heart of our data-driven decision-making processes. You’ll collaborate closely with the Commercial and IT teams to extract, transform, and analyze data, providing actionable insights that optimize our recreational cannabis commercial strategies. Your work will directly inform sales, marketing, finance, and supply chain decisions, helping to drive growth and efficiency across the company.

Key Responsibilities
- Analyze commercial performance data to support decision-making across sales, marketing, commercialization and supply chain teams.
- Develop and enhance Power BI dashboards and other analytical tools, transforming data into clear, actionable insights.
- Extract, clean, maintain, and transform data from multiple internal and external sources for analysis.
- Create and maintain data models to ensure accurate reporting and forecasting.
- Translate business questions into analytical projects and deliver data-driven recommendations.
- Conduct ad-hoc analysis to support strategic initiatives and solve specific business challenges.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity in all analysis and reporting.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve data analytics processes and tools in collaboration with IT and business teams.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in a data analytics role, ideally within consumer packaged goods (CPG) / fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), or a similar industry.
- Strong Power BI skills: Experience with DAX, Power Query, and building dashboards and data visualizations is essential.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, including advanced functionalities such as pivot tables, complex formulas, and data analysis tools.
- Proficiency in SQL, with experience in writing and optimizing queries.
- Exposure to Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes, data modelling, data warehousing and data management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make actionable recommendations.
- Effective communication skills, able to present complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in the cannabis industry is a strong plus but not required.
- Basic knowledge of Python for scripting or automating tasks (preferred).Basic knowledge of Azure Data Factory and data ingestion architecture within an Azure Cloud environment (preferred).
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, work in a collaborative environment and meet tight deadlines.
