The Opportunity
The successful candidate will be responsible for quality activities in all areas of Operations (cultivation, processing, packaging etc.). Position goals are to perform necessary checks in adherence to the quality management system, validating process and controls, and providing accurate and complete documentation. To do this, you are resourceful and a creative problem solver, you can work individually as well as in a team environment, you are a quick learner with an ability to consistently meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced and changing work environment. This position involves shift work.
What you will be doing.......
Focused primarily on Quality Control activities, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Conducting various QC activities including, but not limited to line checks, sample collection, scale verification activities etc.
- Perform internal facility inspections and audits (example: plant audits, good production practice inspections, SOP audits etc.)
- Assisting with development and training of standard operating procedures (SOP’s), work instructions, checklists, documentation etc.
- Assisting in investigation for customer complaints and initiating corrective and preventative actions.
- Comprehensive record keeping including but not limited to sample submission forms, reports, deviations, investigations and corrective actions, record validation and record filling.
- Provide coaching to new employees on quality and regulatory expectations
- Troubleshoot and problem solve regulatory and quality constraints and challenges, liaise with operations and champion corrective actions
- Verify and approve regulated labels for use on finished goods
- Investigate abnormalities in process to determine a root cause
- Reacting accordingly when product is out of specification during any operations process, using available tools, like the Hold log and ERP System.
- Monitor data trends; identify and facilitate changes to achieve specifications and targets
- Use of ERP systems and internal computer programs for accurate task execution
- Assist with additional tasks as assigned
To qualify, you have.......

- Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent experience
- Previous experience in a Quality role in a manufacturing environment
- An affinity for science, math and manufacturing or horticulture would be considered an asset
- Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, inventory management systems such as ERP systems
- Strong decision making and leadership skills
- Has a well-established sense of urgency and takes initiative to problem-solve
- A quick learner with ability to work in a fast-based environment
- Strong communication (written and verbal) skills
- Hardworking individual with an eye for detail
