Position Summary:

 

Reporting to the Security Supervisor, the Security Guard is responsible for the safety and protection of our employees and guests while protecting company property and assets. The Security Guard is a self-starter who takes initiative, displays problem solving and decision-making abilities, has excellent organizational skills and can maintain a positive, professional attitude in a fast-paced and changing work environment. The Security Guard possesses strong interpersonal skills and a sense of urgency. 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Control employee and visitor access points to facility;
  • Monitor video surveillance cameras, access control points using provided PC software and respond to alarms;
  • Monitor other Organigram sites outside of their regular business hours and respond to alarms;
  • Review video surveillance camera footage to assist other departments in their investigations;
  • Generate access control records for other departments;
  • Assist with security audits;
  • Perform interior and exterior facility patrols;
  • Observe, investigate and report any irregular activities/incidents;
  • Write comprehensive reports and maintain routine logs;
  • Assist the Security Supervisor as required;
  • Other duties as may be required to support the needs of the business.

 

Desired Qualifications:

 

  • 1 to 3 years’ experience in security; other skills may be considered
  • High level of honesty and integrity;
  • Excellent attendance and safety record;
  • Trouble shooting and problem-solving skills;
  • Sound judgement and interpersonal skills;
  • Proficiency in MS Office;
  • Ability to handle projects with multiple work streams both independently and as part of a team;
  • Strong customer service and communication skill, both written and oral;
  • Must be available to work a variety of shifts including days, nights and weekends.
  • Other duties as may be required
